Meet Director Dr. Soufani

The Director of the Centre is a full-time JMSB faculty member, appointed by the Dean and reporting to the Centre’s Advisory Board. The Director’s main responsibility is to provide leadership in the development of new research into business finance, with particular focus on small and medium-sized enterprises. In addition, the Director coordinates the research and events of the participating scholars and organizes workshops, seminars, conferences, and invited speaker series on business finance.

Dr. Khaled Soufani is an Associate Professor of Finance at the John Molson School of Business. He was a visiting scholar in the Faculty of Economics and is a Senior Research Associate at the University of Cambridge in the UK. He has been a visiting fellow and lecturer at a number of universities and business schools. He lectures on business finance, corporate finance, and managerial and business economics. His research focuses on business finance and the financial affairs of small and medium-sized enterprises, venture capital and private equity, corporate finance, and family-owned businesses. Khaled’s work has been widely published in academic and practitioners’ journals and books.

Khaled sits on several editorial boards and has served as guest editor on finance and economics topics in various small to medium-sized business journals. He also regularly writes reviews for various academic journals and books.
