  1. There are ISEP information sessions available at both the Concordia International Office and JMSB. Which one should I attend?

JMSB students

1. There are ISEP information sessions available at both the Concordia International Office and JMSB. Which one should I attend?

Both offices provide valuable information and we encourage you to attend both sessions. However, if you can only attend one, the JMSB ISEP Info Session is specifically geared towards your academic program and will cover the special requirements of our ISEP program in more detail.

2. I do not currently meet the eligibility requirements to study abroad. Can I meet with someone to talk about my situation?

Students who do not meet the eligibility requirements are encouraged to make an appointment with the Coordinator of International Student Affairs at the JMSB to determine how to ensure that they meet the criteria for the next application period. Please call 514-848-2424, ext. 2721 to make an appointment.

3. Where can I get in touch with students who have participated in the ISEP before for advice?

The JMSB International Committee (JIC) is a group of former ISEP students that are here to support their peers throughout the host institution selection and application process. They can provide advice about the program and put you in touch with individuals who have studied at or who are currently visiting JMSB from your preferred host institution. International students

1. Is there guaranteed on-campus housing for study abroad students?

Each year, Concordia University reserves several beds at one of our campus residences for international study abroad students . Reservation is on a first-come, first-served basis. Students who have not secured a bed at the residence or who wish to live in an apartment can obtain housing assistance through the Off-Campus Housing Bank .

2. Is there someone who can help me adjust to living and studying in Montreal?

The JMSB International Committee (JIC) provides peer support to all incoming study abroad students through a buddy system, various orientation services, and numerous activities held throughout the year. Once you are accepted to JMSB, the JIC will contact you via e-mail prior to your arrival. Learn more about the JIC .

The International Student Office (ISO) is your primary source of support for immigration procedures. The ISO also has trained staff to help you adapt to living in a new environment. The ISO Pre-Departure Guide and International Student Handbook are available through the ISO website.

3. When will I be registered for my courses?

Please review the Concordia Class Schedule and provide the course name, class section and semester that you wish to register for courses.  Provided all of the information requested has been included you will be registered in your courses prior to arriving in Montreal if space is available. If you cannot register in your first choice, we will address this when you arrive for the orientation period.
