Richard Gottschall (MIM, BS, CMA) is a Lecturer in Marketing and Entrepreneurship at SUNY Plattsburgh and a PhD candidate at the John Molson School of Business. Gottschall’s research interests are in the areas of entrepreneurship, innovation, human capital, and family business. His research has been presented at the Academy of Management annual meetings, Family Enterprise Research Conference (FERC), and the Administrative Sciences Association of Canada annual meeting. He has extensive experience in entrepreneurship and small business management in the US and Southeastern Europe.

Dissertation

Working title: “Empowerment and Employment of Family Human Capital: Effects on Organizational Innovation.” This research looks at family involvement in the firm from a human capital perspective and tests for effects on organizational innovation. Proposal defence is planned for August 2011.
