DissertationThe thesis will consist of three essays dealing with emerging firms in domestic Canadian Market and a foreign emerging market. Tow essays will examine the relationship between the costs of equity for Canadian PMEs and corporate governance with controls such as PME cross-listing status, and how the idiosyncratic risk of publicly traded Canadian PMEs has evolved over time. The third essay will examine the various aspects of the market microstructure of the emerging market in Turkey using a proprietary database including all quotes and trades for a recent 3-year period.
