Program Overview

Convenient Schedule

The EMBA class schedule is designed to minimize time spent away from the workplace and maximize valuable study time. EMBA classes are held one day per week, on alternate Fridays and Saturdays, for four semesters, over a 20-month period. Breaks between semesters mean that actual classroom time is only 15 months. The 10-12 day international study trip takes place in May, at the end of the second semester.

Lock-Step Approach

Students enter the program, complete courses, and graduate with the same group. This integrated, lock-step approach does not allow for the granting of transfer credits or course exemptions.

Typical Class Days

EMBA Class Schedule

Class days begin with breakfast in the EMBA dining room at 7:15 am. Classes start at 8:00 am and end at 5:30 pm. Meals and refreshments are provided.

Summer Tutorials

Free tutorials in Accounting and Mathematics are offered on Monday and Wednesday evenings during July and August for new students who wish to refresh their skills prior to starting the program. Attendance is optional. Books and other materials are provided at no extra cost.

Orientation

During the first week of classes, students attend a mandatory four-day orientation session where they participate in a variety of exercises and workshops designed to introduce them to faculty, colleagues, and the program. Students receive information about the multitude of resources available to them at Concordia University and participate in seminars on study skills, time management, and business presentation skills. On Friday evening, the annual EMBA Orientation Banquet provides students and their guests with the opportunity to mingle with faculty and staff and to meet the members of the second-year EMBA class.
