Admission Requirements
- A bachelor's degree (with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.70 on a scale of 4.30, or equivalent) or qualifications accepted as equivalent by the Council of the School of Graduate Studies
- A minimum of five years of relevant experience in a managerial position
Required Application Documents
Download the CMA Program Information PackageAlong with the application form (obtained through the CMA Order or above), you must submit the following documents:
- The duly completed application form.
- Official transcripts from all previous university studies. Each transcript must bear the original seal of the institution that issued it (photocopies not accepted). The transcript must be sent directly by your university to the CMA Order in a sealed envelope.
- For applicants with degrees conferred outside Quebec, the Comparative Evaluation for Studies done outside Quebec prepared by the Service des évaluations comparatives des études of the Ministère de l’Immigration et des Communautés culturelles. Only the original or a certified true copy is acceptable.
- Your resumé.
- A letter of about one page in which you explain your reasons for applying for this program and state your personal and professional objectives.
- Three letters of reference sent to the Order either directly by their authors or in sealed envelopes (use the model included with this application).
- Birth certificate (original or certified true copy, both sides). If you were born abroad and are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, you must attach one of the following (original or certified true copy, both sides) to your birth certificate, national identity card or passport:
- your Canadian citizenship card; your record of landing (IMM1000);
- your confirmation of permanent residence (IMM5292);
- your permanent residence card.
- A cheque for $300 payable to the CPA Order (non-refundable application evaluation fee).
- A cheque for $2,375 payable to the CPA Order postdated August 19, 2013
- the first installment of your tuition fees – see the Tuition fees and payment schedule (page 18 of the CMA Program Information Package).
- A description of your current position, accompanied by a letter from your current employer confirming the position held and the accuracy of your description of that position. The description of your position must be sufficiently detailed to enable the members of the Admission Committee to evaluate the nature of your tasks and your responsibilities, especially with respect to decision-making, planning and control. You may also attach an organization chart, if available, showing your job in relation to other management positions in the organization.
- Attestations of prior positions, enabling us to verify that you have acquired five years of managerial experience in accounting and/or management. These attestations must satisfy the following criteria:
- written on the employer’s official letterhead and bear the employer’s signature;
- specify the employment start and end dates;
- indicate the title of the position held during the period;
- list the main responsibilities assumed.
