“Global Work Party” to Solve the Climate Crisis

Many joined us for a guided tour of Mount Royal on Sunday, October 10, 2010 at 10am to work up a sweat and learn more about Montreal's mountain and the important role it plays in the fight against climate change.

Over 180 countries joined 10/10/10: a day of practical climate action. From JMSB to the roof of the president’s house in the Maldives Islands, people from 183 nations joined in the largest day of carbon-cutting the planet has ever seen.

TED

TED Talks Viewing – October 26, 2010

Together with TEDxConcordia - an independently organized TED event - the David O'Brien Centre for Sustainable Enterprise co-hosted a discussion salon on October 26th, focused on education. After presenting two TEDTalks, attendees were given the chance to share their opinions on the talks and the theme. In addition to promoting a dynamic and interactive discussion, the event's goal was to introduce people from all backgrounds and disciplines to each other and foster creative partnerships and new friendships.

Earth Day – April 22, 2010

Earth Day – April 22, 2010

On Earth Day 2010 in the JMSB lobby, JMSBers let go of their inner earthly artist by writing, drawing and scribbling their pledges of their commitment for the next year to make the Earth a better place. Many of you made great promises that I hope will keep on going long after the next Earth Day.

The reused banners used for the pledges are now proudly housed in the office of Chantal Forgues, Program Coordinator, Outreach & Student Activities of the David O’Brien Centre for Sustainable Enterprise.

JMSB Mt. Royal Walk & Picnic for 350.org – October 24, 2009

October 24, 2009 was a rainy day but over 20 people showed up to walk up Mt. Royal for climate change awareness and support for the Copenhagen talks just weeks away. Everyone enjoyed a well deserved catered lunch from La Commensal at the Belvedere Kondiaronk Chalet at the summit.
