The people behind the program
Dr. A. Bakr Ibrahim
Dr. A. Bakr Ibrahim is the CIBC Distinguished Professor of Entrepreneurship and Family Business. He is the Director of the Centre for Small Business and Entrepreneurial Studies and Associate Dean at the John Molson School of Business. Dr. Ibrahim is the author of numerous books and articles on entrepreneurship venture creation and family businesses. He advises banks, governments and businesses on entrepreneurship and small and family business issues. Professor Ibrahim has over 30 years of experience in the field.
Jose Lam, Manager
Jose Lam has worked as a small business consultant for the past nine years and has extensive experience in conducting market research and the preparation of business plans. Mr. Lam was also interim manager of the Kingston Technology Exchange Centre, an incubator for new business start-ups, based at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario.
J. Pelland, Advisor
J. Pelland has accumulated 28 years of invaluable experience, 15 of which have been dedicated to management and economic development. His strengths are in strategic and financial planning for small and medium-sized enterprises. He also has expertise in the areas of marketing and sales, both acquired in the manufacturing industry.
T. Oualhadj, Advisor
T. Oualhadj is a management consultant specializing in the development of business and strategic plans and in the implementation of performance management programs for start-ups and expanding companies, both in the manufacturing and services industries. In addition, he started his own knowledge-based company and has several years of experience with Procter & Gamble.
