Management Professors host FERC
The John Molson School of Business hosted the 8th Family Enterprise Research Conference (FERC) on May 11-13, 2012 together with the McGill-HEC Montréal International Business Families Centre. The conference was held together with the 4th Georges Doriot Conference on Family Entrepreneurship. Conference chairs were Michael Carney and Marylène Gagné from JMSB, together with Luis-Felipe Cisneros (HEC Montréal) and Pramodita Sharma (University of Vermont and Babson College). As part of the conference, the second FERC doctoral consortium was held for students interested in the scholarly study of family business, co-chaired by Alexandra Dawson (Concordia University), Allison Pearson (Mississippi State University), and Rebecca Long (Mississippi State University).

2012 Fuller Landau Family Business Awards
As part of the 2012 Family Enterprise Research Conference, the 2012 Fuller Landau Family Business Awards were held at JMSB on May 11, 2012. The purpose of the awards is to honor and celebrate the most progressive privately-held family enterprises in Quebec that portray entrepreneurial dynamism and excel in their contributions to our community and economy. Also recognized at the ceremony was a group of JMSB students who wrote a report as part of their Entrepreneurial Family Business course. The Awards were co-chaired by JMSB faculty members Michael Carney and Alexandra Dawson. Read more...
