Dr
. Russo’s academic research focuses on the interaction of national and i
nternational environmental\, social\, and political policies\, and strateg
ic management. His articles have appeared in leading scholarly journals\,
including Academy of Management Journal\, Administrative Science Quarterly
\, Management Science\, Organization Science\, and Strategic Management Jo
urnal. Dr. Russo’s research on the bottom-line effects of corporate gree
ning received the 1998 Moskowitz Prize in Social Investing. He has receive
d funding from the National Science Foundation to study international volu
ntary environmental regulation under the ISO 14000 standards and from the
Dreyfus Foundation to write business cases that incorporate green chemistr
y issues. One case written under the Dreyfus Foundation grant\, “Seventh
Generation: Balancing Customer Expectations with Supply Chain Realities\,
” won the International 2007 oikos Sustainability Case Writing Competiti
on.

wed Professorship in Entrepreneurship in the College of Business Administr

ty at ULM\, she was at The University of Southern Mississippi. Dr. Babin h
as published articles in the Journal of Advertising\, Journal of Business

Joyce E. Bono joi
ned the University of Minnesota in 2001 (Department of Psychology)\, and t
he Carlson School of Management in 2007. She has BA from Spring Arbor Coll
ege in Human Resources (1990)\, an MS in Administration from the Universit
y of Notre Dame Business School (1996) and a PhD in Organizational Behavio
r from the University of Iowa (2001). She is also the founder and director
of the Leadership Lab\, a virtual organization designed to link academic
researchers with business organizations for the study and development of l
eadership and is also an associate with the Well Being at Work Collaborato
ry. Dr. Bono chose the academic life after 15 years in management. She tea
ches leadership and organizational behavior at the graduate level. She has
published articles in the Academy of Management Journal\, Journal of Appl
ied Psychology\, Personnel Psychology\, Leadership Quarterly\, and elsewhe
re. She currently serves as an Associate Editor for the Academy of Managem
ent Journal. Her expertise includes leadership\, motivation\, emotions and
attitudes in organizations\, employee health\, and women in management. H
er current research focuses on how managers influence employee health and
motivation and the value of positive work relationships for employees and
organizations. She believes that work (and the classroom) should be both p
roductive and fun. She lives in Minneapolis with a neurotic but lovely dog
\, Charlie\, who loves swimming and chasing squirrels\, and an aging cat\,
Sasha.\n

ership at the Graduate School of Management\, University of \nCalifornia\,
Davis. She received her PhD in Industrial Engineering from \nStanford Uni
versity. Prior to her academic career\, she worked as an \nIndustrial Engi
neer for the Quaker Oats Co. in Cedar Rapids\, Iowa. Kim’s\n research fo
cuses on the perception and management of individual and \norganizational
images\, identities\, and reputations. She has studied \nthese symbolic pr
ocesses in variety of contexts ranging from the \nCalifornia cattle indust
ry and the National Rifle Association\, to \nHollywood screenwriters. She
is currently studying how creative \nidentities of toy designers affect th
eir ability to be good colleagues \nand how crying at work affects images
of professional women. Her book \nOrganizational Perception Management was
recently published by Lawrence \nErlbaum as part of its Organization and
Management Series.

or of psychology and Chair of the School of Psychology at the University o
f Ottawa. He completed his PhD in social psychology in 1989 at the Univers
ity of Quebec in Montreal. His research interests are in the domain human
motivation where he has about a hundred publications. More specifically he
is interested by the intrapersonal and interpersonal mechanisms that peop
le use to maintain their motivation and develop an interest for a task\, b
y the factors leading to different forms of motivation for behaviour\, as
well as the mechanisms leading to failures at self-regulation. From an app
lied perspective\, his research focuses on the motivation for different ac

er is Professor of Strategic Management at the Rotman School of Management
\, University of Toronto. She’s held visiting academic positions at Dart
mouth College\, the University of Victoria\, the Australian National Unive
rsity\, and the University of Adelaide. She sits on the editorial board of
several entrepreneurship journals\, and is Associate Editor of Family Bus
iness Review. She’s active professionally\, chairing SSHRC grant adjudic
ation committees\, sitting on the Toronto Board of Trade’s Access to Cap
ital Task Force\, and writing monthly articles for the Globe and Mail’s

Susan E. Jackson\, PhD\, is Distinguished Professor of Human Resource
Management at the School of Management and Labor Relations\, Rutgers Unive
rsity\, USA. Her current research focuses on understanding how human resou
rce management practices can be used to support environmental sustainabili
ty. Dr. Jackson currently serves as President of the Academy of Management
—a global organization of 19\,000 management scholars. She is founder of

Professor Brown’s teaching\, research\, and service

The McGill School of Environment is involved in building programs with Mc
Gill’s Faculties of Arts\, Science\, Agricultural and Environmental Scie
nces\, as well as Religious Studies\, Law\, Engineering\, Management\, and
Medicine. Before coming to McGill he was Professor of Public Policy at th
e University of Maryland’s graduate School of Public Affairs. While at
the University of Maryland he founded the Institute for Philosophy and Pub
lic Policy\, as well as the School of Public Policy itself. Professor Bro
wn established the School’s Environmental Policy Programs to operate not
only at the University’s College Park campus\, but also at Maryland’s
Department of the Environment\, and at the United States Environmental Pr
otection Agency. He has taught at Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson
School of Public and International Affairs\, at the University of Washingt
on\, and at St. John's College in Annapolis. He is currently a Senior Rese
arch Scholar at the Center for Humans and Nature.

R. Edward Freeman joined the Darden Graduate School
of Business Administration in 1987. Currently he is University Professor a
nd Elis and Signe Olsson Professor of Business Administration\; Senior Fel
low of the Olsson Center for Applied Ethics\; and\, Academic Director of t
he Business Roundtable Institute for Corporate Ethics. Freeman is perhaps
best known for his award winning book: Strategic Management: A Stakehold
er Approach\, published in 1984\, where he traced the origins of the stake
holder idea to a number of others\, and suggested that businesses build th
eir strategy around their relationships with key stakeholders. Mr. Freeman
has a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Washington University\, and a B.A. in Math
ematics and Philosophy from Duke University. He was recently awarded an ho
norary doctorate in economics (DHC) from Comillas University in Madrid fo
r his work on stakeholder theory and business ethics. He has received th
e 6th Annual Outstanding Teaching Award from the Wharton Advisory Board\,
a Top Ten Teachers Award from the Wharton MBA Program\, and in 1986 was na
med Teacher of the Year at the Carlson School of Management\, University o
