\nFor the thi rd year in a row Concordia alumni and undergraduate students will give up the comforts of home for 5 days and nights to raise awareness and funds to help underprivileged youths get back on their feet.

The event is a five day campaign called '5 Days for the Homeless' in which Concordia and HEC (L’Université de Montréal) students will live “homeless” on their respective campus’ to raise money and awareness for Dans la Rue .

Participants will have to sacrifice comforts such as taking a shower\, sleeping in a bed and access to financial resources. At the same time\, participants will be expected to attend class and write any exams. \n

Participants will:

1. Remain on campus for five days. The campaign begins 5PM Sunday M arch 14th 2010 and ends 5PM Friday March 19th 2010.

2. Have no income. 100% of the funds donated to participants are passed on to each re gions respective charity cause.

3. Have no food or drinks. Food can only be received through direct donations\, and all non perishable fo od must be held and donated.

4. Have only a pillow and a sleepi ng bag. These items can be exchanged for an emergency meal.

5. Have no access to showers\, or facilities to which their student status wo uld usually grant them access. Washrooms can only be accessed when campus buildings are open.

The communal bike will set-off from Atwater Street at 10 a.m. \n

Funds raised by the team will allow The Montreal Children's Hospit al to purchase state-of-the-art equipment and fund special projects that a re of great importance to sick children.

\nFor the thi rd year in a row Concordia alumni and undergraduate students will give up the comforts of home for 5 days and nights to raise awareness and funds to help underprivileged youths get back on their feet.

The event is a five day campaign called '5 Days for the Homeless' in which Concordia and HEC (L’Université de Montréal) students will live “homeless” on their respective campus’ to raise money and awareness for Dans la Rue .

Participants will have to sacrifice comforts such as taking a shower\, sleeping in a bed and access to financial resources. At the same time\, participants will be expected to attend class and write any exams. \n

Participants will:

1. Remain on campus for five days. The campaign begins 5PM Sunday M arch 14th 2010 and ends 5PM Friday March 19th 2010.

2. Have no income. 100% of the funds donated to participants are passed on to each re gions respective charity cause.

3. Have no food or drinks. Food can only be received through direct donations\, and all non perishable fo od must be held and donated.

4. Have only a pillow and a sleepi ng bag. These items can be exchanged for an emergency meal.

5. Have no access to showers\, or facilities to which their student status wo uld usually grant them access. Washrooms can only be accessed when campus buildings are open.

7. Attend all classes. Participants will complete all academic responsibilities\, including stud ent organizations and teaching positions.

8. Avoid personal com munication media. Honourary Doctorates
\nConcordia Univ ersity will grant six honorary doctorates\, two of which will be awarded d uring the JMSB convocation ceremonies.

Corinne Charette\, engi neer and Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the Government of Canada\, fo r her dynamism and commitment to best practices in information management and security\, access to information and privacy in the public realm. Char ette will be honoured in the morning ceremony.

Monique F. Lerou x\, Chair of the Board\, President and Chief Executive Officer of Desjardi ns Group\, for her exceptional contribution to Quebec society and her acco mplishments in matters of management and governance. Leroux will be honour ed in the afternoon ceremony.

From Mar ch 10 to 15\, 27 universities from 20 cities across Canada will be partici pating in this year’s 5 Days for the Homeless campaign. For the sixth ye ar in a row Concordia students and alumni will give up the comforts of hom e for 5 days and nights to raise awareness and funds to help underprivileg ed youths get back on their feet.

For five consecutive days\, s tudents will live “homeless” on campus in order to raise awareness of the issue of homelessness and to solicit donations for local charities. Th e students will make sacrifices\, such as giving up access to showers\, cl ean clothes and disposable income in order to make their community a bette r place. Each participating university will forward the proceeds of the ca mpaign to local non-profit organizations that provide essential services t o homeless youth in their cities.

Concordia participants will l ive “homeless” on the Concordia campus at the corner of de Maisonneuve blvd. and Mackay (outside the Hall building) to raise money and awareness for Dans la Rue to help get kids off the street and back on their feet.\n

From Mar ch 10 to 15\, 27 universities from 20 cities across Canada will be partici pating in this year’s 5 Days for the Homeless campaign. For the sixth ye ar in a row Concordia students and alumni will give up the comforts of hom e for 5 days and nights to raise awareness and funds to help underprivileg ed youths get back on their feet.

For five consecutive days\, s tudents will live “homeless” on campus in order to raise awareness of the issue of homelessness and to solicit donations for local charities. Th e students will make sacrifices\, such as giving up access to showers\, cl ean clothes and disposable income in order to make their community a bette r place. Each participating university will forward the proceeds of the ca mpaign to local non-profit organizations that provide essential services t o homeless youth in their cities.

Concordia participants will l ive “homeless” on the Concordia campus at the corner of de Maisonneuve blvd. and Mackay (outside the Hall building) to raise money and awareness for Dans la Rue to help get kids off the street and back on their feet.\n

From Mar ch 10 to 15\, 27 universities from 20 cities across Canada will be partici pating in this year’s 5 Days for the Homeless campaign. For the sixth ye ar in a row Concordia students and alumni will give up the comforts of hom e for 5 days and nights to raise awareness and funds to help underprivileg ed youths get back on their feet.

For five consecutive days\, s tudents will live “homeless” on campus in order to raise awareness of the issue of homelessness and to solicit donations for local charities. Th e students will make sacrifices\, such as giving up access to showers\, cl ean clothes and disposable income in order to make their community a bette r place. Each participating university will forward the proceeds of the ca mpaign to local non-profit organizations that provide essential services t o homeless youth in their cities.

Concordia participants will l ive “homeless” on the Concordia campus at the corner of de Maisonneuve blvd. and Mackay (outside the Hall building) to raise money and awareness for Dans la Rue to help get kids off the street and back on their feet.\n
