Students earn an impressive 84% CFA® Level I exam pass rate
August 12, 2011 - For the fifth consecutive year, students at the Goodman Institute of Investment Management (GIIM) at Concordia University have more than doubled the worldwide CFA Level I pass rate. The GIIM students who wrote the exam for the first time in June 2011 surpassed the worldwide pass rate achieving a success rate of 84% compared to the worldwide rate of 39%. The GIIM is the world's only MBA program that fully integrates the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) Body of Knowledge™ into its curriculum. This year, almost 145,000 candidates enrolled to take the CFA exams, across 162 countries. Despite worldwide economic conditions, education and ethical practices are still at the forefront of investment management professionals.
“Typically, in order to pass the CFA exam, an average of 300 hours of prep time is required,” said Ian Rakita, CFA, Director of the Program. “Since it’s beginning in 2001, it has been the GIIM’s commitment to fully prepare its students with a curriculum that fully integrates CFA’s Body of Knowledge material. This has proven to be critical to the success of our program. There is no denying that the GIIM has a formula which is uniquely credited for preparing students to consistently double the worldwide pass rate.”
The GIIM Program is the perfect fit for anyone looking to earn two highly recognized designations at once and provides a solid foundation to allow its students to pursue a prosperous career within a concentrated time period. At GIIM, students have the opportunity to earn an MBA in Investment Management as well as the knowledge to fully prepare them to successfully pass all three levels of the CFA exams.
2011 marks the 10th anniversary for the GIIM and the largest incoming class in the history of the Program.
