CMS Student Volunteers 2011-2012

Peer Advisor Program

The Peer Advisor Program offers a unique opportunity for students to get involved at JMSB. As a volunteer you will learn about writing resumes and cover letters, preparing for interviews, conducting effective job search strategies, and negotiating job offers, as well as, gain valuable insights to networking and business etiquette tips. Through an interactive training program, as a Peer Advisor, you will be introduced to career management processes and then embark on delivering 3-5 introductory career management clinics per week, preparing JMSB students to meet with their Career Advisor. Additionally, you will be directly involved with the development of ongoing and future projects as we continuously seek ways to enhance our services for JMSB students. Peer Advisors are considered a highly integral part of the Career Management Services (CMS) team and we look forward to meeting you. If you are seeking a fantastic opportunity to gain extensive knowledge on the recruitment and job search processes, as well as, a chance to give back to the JMSB community, we look forward to receiving your application.

Ambassador Program

The Ambassador Program offers a great opportunity to gain networking, public speaking, promotional and event management experience. Through an interactive training program you will learn how to promote CMS services by engaging with JMSB students and also learn how to offer excellent customer service in a professional manner as you greet and service employers. As an Ambassador, you will not only have the opportunity to network with JMSB students, alumni and employers; you will assist with the management of employer events that are hosted on campus. The Ambassador program is a vital part of our services at CMS as Ambassadors not only promote CMS services but provide valuable help in setting up events and ensuring a pleasant experience for both the employer and the students alike. If you’re interested in giving back to the JMSB community through informing and encouraging students to come and take full advantages of our services, as well as, willing to actively participate in employer information sessions, we look forward to receiving your application.
