Meet Dean Hochstein

Dr. Alan Hochstein, Dean of the John Molson School of Busienss, Concordia University Prior to his appointment as Interim Dean of the John Molson School of Business on July 1, 2011, Dean Hochstein served as Associate Dean Graduate Programs and Director of both the MBA and Graduate Diploma in Business Administration (GDBA) programs. Dean Hochstein has also held several positions in the school including Director, Investment Management MBA Program, Director, Executive MBA Program and Director, Professional MBA Program as well as Associate Vice-Rector, Academic, over a 25-year career at the university.

Alan Hochstein, PhD, teaches in the areas of general finance and business economics. Before joining Concordia's Finance Department, he taught economics at McGill's graduate business school for a number of years. He has presented papers at conferences in Canada, the U.S. and Europe. He has written a microeconomics textbook and has published in the Canadian Personnel and Industrial Relations Journal, Canadian Public Policy, The Gerontologist, The Atlantic Economic Review and Canadian Journal of Marketing Research. Although he has done research in general business economics areas, his main interest is in the health economics field.
