Meet Dean Harvey

Welcome to the John Molson School of Business. At JMSB, we work hard to ensure that our academic programs offer a world-class business education to our full-time, part-time, and executive program students alike. As part of our mission, we strive to provide them with the skills they need in order to become business leaders who are responsible global citizens.

We give our students a flexible means of planning their studies and encourage their involvement in activities outside the classroom. An overwhelming number of our students are involved with our many student associations, which serve to enhance the university experience.

Our students enjoy a learning environment that strikes the right balance between theory and application in ways that allow them to immediately apply their learning in the workplace, and we offer a number of hands-on training opportunities through internships and co-operative learning at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Students’ knowledge and skill development is also enhanced through participation in business case competitions. This past year was a remarkable one for our student competitors. They proudly represented Concordia locally, regionally, nationally and internationally, travelling as far as Hong Kong and Maastricht, The Netherlands. JMSB fielded 57 academic teams and reached the podium a record 37 times. On the research front, our internationally-renowned faculty members are constantly pushing the boundaries of business research and knowledge creation and JMSB’s innovative research centres have displayed solid signals of strength in their respective areas.

Our school’s close ties to its alumni and to Montreal’s business community have contributed greatly to our success over the years. Their involvement bears a significant impact on the student learning experience, and their support helps keep JMSB competitive by allowing us to continue to attract top-notch faculty members.
