MBA Program Number One in Quebec and in the Top Five in Canada

John Molson MBA Program Number One in Quebec and in the Top Five in Canada in Corporate Social Responsibility Survey

For the third year in a row, John Molson School of Business MBA program ranked first in Quebec and in the top five in Canada in the latest Corporate Social Responsibility survey of Canadian business schools published by Corporate Knights Magazine.

This survey, in which 46 Canadian business schools participated, evaluates how well social and environmental impact management are integrated into their curriculum. This ranking is based on a modified version of the US- based Beyond Grey Pinstripes, which evaluates MBA programs around the world in terms of environment and social impact management. The Knight School survey is unique in that it evaluates both Canadian MBA and undergrad programs based on their commitment to promoting corporate social responsibility.

The rankings were based on the three following criteria:

  • Institutional scores- seminars, internship programs, endowed chairs, scholarships, student competitions and school-based centres and institutes.
  • Student initiatives- student clubs and groups.
  • Courses- required and elective courses, joint degrees and specializations.

The JMSB undergraduate program ranked third in Canada for its student initiatives, and our MBA program made it into the top ten for its institutional scores, student initiatives and courses. JMSB was also recognized for its Black Community Sustainable Economic Development Program that allows a group of young entrepreneurs to receive training over a four-month period. Training enables them to assist in establishing viable businesses with help from the Molson School of Business faculty.

York University’s Schulich School of Business placed first in the MBA ranking, with JMSB beating other top performers such as University of Toronto, Dalhousie University, McGill University and University of British Columbia.
