JMSB Delivers Strong Performance at Royal Roads Case Competition

March 18-20, 2010 – Congratulations to Emil Vanjaka, Louis Martyres, Peter Dehais, Jonathan Ruel for their solid performance at the 2010 Royal Roads International Case Competition organized and run by students from the Royal Roads Faculty of Management in Victoria, BC.
The competition strives to bridge the gap between corporate and academic worlds. This is an opportunity for students to display their analytical and presentation skills and for potential employers to observe them under high pressure situations. Both judges and sponsors looked at this competition as a recruitment opportunity as well as a learning experience for students.
Teams from fourteen schools were required to go through a preliminary round where they were given three business cases over a period of two days, with three hours to analyze the document. The students later delivered a 20-minute presentation to a panel of judges, followed by a question-and-answer period. The top three teams advanced to the finals. The winner of the competition was the University of South Carolina. The University of Southern Indiana and Royal Roads University won second and third position, respectively.
Although JMSB did not reach the finals, the team delivered strong performances. Louis Martyres, one of our team members writes: “It was a disappointing finish to say the least but, I think I speak on behalf of the team when I say that, we are very proud of the work that we accomplished“.
Thanks to our team for their hard work and for the heart they displayed at the competition.
Thanks to head coach Mark Haber, lead coach, Peter Vogopoulos, as well as Christian Bonneau, Matthew Fishman, Matthew Parker-Jones and Malaz Sebai for making this a team who will move forward as successful participants in their respective fields.
