JMSB Wins First Place at Ryerson’s 5th annual Organizational Behaviour Case Competition

February 1, 2010 - Scott Fisher, Rebecca Golt, and Laurent Pham-Dang, representing the John Molson School of Business (JMSB), brought home the top prize from Ryerson University’s 2010 Organizational Behaviour Case Competition.
The competition, which took place in Toronto on January 29th, 2010, featured 7 Ontario University teams and the JMSB delegation. JMSB was honoured to be the first school from outside Ontario to be invited to this competition in its five year history. The eight teams were divided into two divisions. JMSB won its division against Ryerson, Trent and York and went on to defeat the winner of the second division, Guelph, who had come out ahead of Brock, Wilfred Laurier and McMaster.
The Organizational Behaviour Case Competition (OBC) is Ontario’s largest student run Human Resource and Organizational Behaviour competition and exposes students to an HR case they could face in their professional careers. Instead of computers and Microsoft PowerPoint software, the teams were given flip charts and markers. Each team was given two hours to read the case, and provide strategic recommendations on "How to keep Google googley", followed by a twenty minute presentation.
JMCC would like to thank Head Coach, Mark Haber, as well as HR Coaches Aaron Dresner and Matthew Fishman for their dedication and work to the case competition program.
