The John Molson School of Business Ranks Third in 2009 Corporate Knights University Ranking

Concordia University’s John Molson School of Business rose to third place in the sixth- annual Knights School Survey published in the Corporate Knights Magazine.  Among the 35 MBA programs evaluated, the John Molson MBA program rose from fourth place with 60.9% in 2008 to third place with 80.17%.  The John Molson School of Business has ranked first in Quebec since the survey’s inception in 2004.

According to Corporate Knights, competition in 2009 was especially fierce as universities continue to adjust their curriculum in the face of increased scrutiny and public pressure to integrate sustainability issues.  This year’s average score for the top ten rose from 61.23% to 70.92%. In the undergraduate category, 47 schools were evaluated and JMSB came in sixth with a score of 63.9%.

Dean Sanjay Sharma was delighted with the 2009 survey results and was featured as a business school faculty rising star in the inaugural Knights School Survey for his research in corporate sustainability. Dean Sharma has been working hard with his colleagues to steer the Faculty in a responsible and sustainable direction.  In November 2008, Concordia University announced the creation of the David O'Brien Centre for Sustainable Enterprise. The business school recently recruited several new faculty members that specialize in research areas related to sustainability.

The Canadian survey is modeled after the US based Beyond Grey Pinstripes survey.
