Students Samer Balaghi, Michel Berger, Adam Forlini and Samuel Nasso represented Concordia University’s John Molson School of Business (JMSB) at the 2012 Battle on Bay Street, Ryerson University's Financial Management Case Competition. The JMSB team made its mark on the competition with an impressive third-place place finish.
“The Ryerson case was about Sustainametrics, a tech start-up developing a Smartphone app to help companies implement their sustainability strategy among their employees,” said Berger. “Our job was to value the start-up and determine the best way to finance its growth - it had a projected shortfall in the next year if it did not receive a cash injection. The professor who wrote the case told us we had the most accurate valuation.”The final rankings were:
- University of Waterloo (team 1)
- University of Waterloo (team 2)
- Concordia University (John Molson School of Business)
