February 19-25, 2011 – JMSB earned a third place finish at the NIBS competition (Network of International Business Schools) held at Memorial University in St. John’s, Newfoundland.

Students from around the world participated in the week-long competition event which adopted a round robin format. Cleo Roch, the attending coach for this year’s NIBS team, congratulated the JMSB team - Khalid Alali, Dany Asad, Louis Martyres, and Joy Minor – and praised their semi-final status at this year’s NIBS competition.

In the preliminaries, JMSB went up against Dublin, Leuven, Lahti, and Memorial. Team JMSB presented viable, realistic and impeccably detailed solutions impressing both the judges and their attending coach.  Consistently strong performances led JMSB to 4 consecutive wins in the preliminaries.  JMSB took the lead into the semi-finals and faced Memorial a second time.  The judges were split; and in the end Memorial passed to the final round to eventually win the competition.

The NIBS 2011 final results were:
1st place - Memorial
2nd place - Bishops
3rd place - JMSB, Leuven (Belgium)

Special thanks to Tim Field and Cleo Roch for their time and effort in coaching the NIBS 2011 team. Special thanks also go to Head Coach Mark Haber for his support of the competition program.

A very special thank you to our exclusive sponsor, Pfizer Canada, as well as solutioncellulaire.ca, Concessionnaire Autorisé Rogers, for their support and encouragement of the case competition program.
