November 22, 2010 – Congratulations to all the students who took part in the second Annual Graduate Research Exposition (AGRE) which was held on Thursday November 18, 2010. The event showcased the latest research findings and talent of JMSB’s Doctoral (PhD) and Master of Science (MSc) in Administration students who completed their projects under the supervision of Faculty Advisors. The event used a “Poster” format that provided participants with a forum to present their original research to the academic and business communities. The posters and presentations were then judged by a panel of enthusiastic Professors and Executives from Montreal’s business community.
Associate Dean of Research and Research Programs Harjeet S. Bhabra said: "The Research Exposition provides an excellent opportunity to our PhD and MSc students to showcase their research to both the external business community and students from our other programs. It is also a great way to reconnect with our alumni who return to serve as judges for the event. I think the networking experience for our students, continued association with our alumni and the potential for recruiting top-ranked students to our program who get an early exposure to what academic research is all about is truly a win-win outcome for all."
The event’s reception and prizes for the winners were made possible thanks to the generosity of the following sponsors: Concordia University’s Office of VP Research and Graduate Studies, the Bell Research Centre, the David O’Brien Centre for Sustainable Enterprise, the InterNeg Research Centre, Ms. J. Kavanagh and Mr. D. Walcot, the Kenneth Woods Portfolio Management Program Client Committee, Ms. D. Vincent (MacDougall, MacDougall & MacTier Inc.) and the John Molson Doctoral Students Society (JMDSS).
Special thanks go to the 17 judges who carefully assessed each of the submissions. Additional thanks go to JMSB faculty and staff for their academic review, event support and technical expertise; Linda Dyer, Devasheesh Bhave, Ulrike de Brentani, Charles Dramin, Jennifer Muir, Caroline D’Amour, Riddhi Jhunjhunwala, Natalia Nehm, Carol Acton, and Mary Genova.
